Messier 3: Globular Cluster

27 March 2022

We had a wonderful month with many clear nights that lead to some nice pictures (Whirlpool Galaxy, Cigar and Bode's Galaxy, Pinwheel Galaxy). For the last clear night of the month, I had about 3 hours and I needed a target that would produce a nice image even with such a small integration time. I chose a star cluster as I expected that not much stretching was required to pull out enough data.

This image of the globular cluster lies in the constellation of Canes Venatici and is known as Messier 3 or NGC 5272.
