New Toy: ZWO ASI 120mm and Orion Mini 50mm Guide Scope

03 October 2020

I recently got the next upgrade to my astrophotography equipment: A guide scope and a dedicated guide camera. Sadly I forgot to remove the
bahtinov mask before taking the exposures and it took me quite some time to realize my mistake. So the image above is not good by any means but it shows one thing: with the help of autoguiding I will be able to take exposures (@200mm) up to at least 4 minutes while still getting round stars.

And I learned another lesson: Setting up the laptop to control the guiding is quite a hassle and so I am looking forward to my next purchase which will be a ZWO ASIAIR.
